Lazonby, Penrith, Cumbria, England, UK. 3rd October 2018. The largest sheep sale in the North of England, known as the Alston Moor Sale, takes place at Lazonby Mart. 18,026 Gimmer Lambs are sold to purchasers from across the UK by the hill farmers of Northumberland, Cumbria and Yorkshire. The British sheep trade reported low prices in 2018 due to political uncertainty and extreme weather conditions.
