Camptown, Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, UK. 8th December 2019. A flock of Lapwings (Vanellus vanellus) fly above Riccalton Farm near the Anglo Scottish Border, which is visible on the horizon. Lapwings flock in winter to pasture and ploughed fields and their name is derived from their distinctive flying style.
