Ancrum, Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, UK. 29th February 2020. The village of Ancrum in the Scottish Borders plays it's annual Uppies and Doonies Hand Ba' game. The Battle of Ancrum Moor, which took place in February 1545, is said to be where the villages game was first played, using defeated English soldiers heads as ba's. The knack of the game is to smuggle the ba' through team members, through any means possible, there are no rules as such really.
